Advanced Reproductive Care

Managing Fibroids

Fibroids affect 80% of African Americans and 70% of white women by age 50. The Fibroid and Reproductive Care Center was established in 2012 to care for women suffering from the heavy bleeding, pelvic pain, painful intercourse and problematic pregnancies that accompany this condition. Another main focus is to educate our clients about the alarmingly high rates of hysterectomy to treat this common, but benign condition. At The Fibroid and Reproductive Care Center, we work with you to not only treat fibroids, but to prevent their growth and recurrence using healthy eating and lifestyle changes. Dr Miller-Thrasher combines a combination of natural remedies- high dose vitamin D, avoidance of phthalates and remedies not yet routinely available for a uniquely wholistic approach to this condition. Where surgery is needed, minimally- invasive options remain our procedure of choice. Dr Miller- Thrasher has authored a book that takes the confusion out of managing your fibroids. “The Innovative Woman’s Guide to Managing Fibroids Without Hysterectomy” is available now in hard copy and e-books.

Fertility Concerns

With an aging population, more women in the work force, and more women than ever waiting to establish their careers before starting their families, there has never been a better time to have a team of providers who focus on being proactive in planning your family. Fertility Evaluation, Preconception Counseling and Reproductive Care Management, including monitoring of other disease entities, such as PCOS and Endometriosis maximize your ability to conceive. We carefully and intentionally manage family planning, with as much emphasis placed on Proactive Reproductive Care Evaluation, (starting at age 30), as we do on contraceptive care counseling. In addition to our comprehensive fertility evaluations, we facilitate collaboration with highly-trained reproductive clinics. Our providers proudly encourage innovative advances in reproductive technologies, including proactive surveillance of your egg count( ovarian reserve) and egg freezings.

Sexual Dysfunction

Low or absent sexual desire is the most common sexual dysfunction in women. Its prevalence peaks in midlife. It has a major impact on a woman’s quality of life, sense of well-being and interpersonal relationships. We aggressively search out possible causes and treat to optimize your physical, emotional, and sexual well-being. Using diet, exercise, stress management, medication modification, treatment of conditions such as fibroids or endometriosis, hormonal replacement (bioidentical hormone replacement to specifically treat sex drive, weight gain concerns, lack of lean body mass, and depression. and/or bioidentical estrogen hormonal replacement to treat hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, painful intercourse). We facilitate access to relationship counseling to optimize desire, promote intimacy and enhance communication- all of which can also help rekindle sexual energy.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a condition that impacts many women of all ages, and is very often overlooked and under diagnosed. It can cause infertility, abnormal weight gain, abnormal hair growth known as hirsutism, irregular cycles, diabetes, hypertension, an increased risk of cardiovascular disease and early death.

At Innovative, our testing for hormonal imbalance, irregular cycles and fertility will help make this critically important diagnosis, so that we can help you achieve your reproductive goals and your long-term health goals.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition characterized by progressively worsening pelvic pain, painful menstrual cycles, infertility and tends to run in families. It can be incapacitating to those affected with it and requires aggressive treatment. We offer the latest medical treatments, and although invasive surgical procedures are still listed as the procedures of choice for curing the condition, we promote minimally invasive approaches that have proven highly successful. Just another example of how Innovative demonstrates that it is Patient centered, Patient driven and Patient empowered!
